Holy Name ProvinceSupplex Sacramus Canticum is a hymn for the Memorial of the Holy Name of Jesus.  This hymn is an Ambrosian Rite hymn.

 Latin:

English:

Supplex sacramus canticum
Divino Jesu Nomini,
Quod astra, terrae, et inferi Laudant, adorant et tremunt.

Nomen salutis nuncium,.
Supra omne nomen prominens,
Fons vitae, origo gratiae,
Caelestis arrha gloriae.

O melle Nomen dulcius,
Quod corde et ore personans,
Curas, dolores, daemones, Mulcet, retundit, dissipat.

Hoc Nomen invocantibus
Sit juge nobis gaudium,
Vitae laborem temperans,
Mortis timorem diluens.

Jesu, tuo sit Nomini,
Cum Patre et Almo Spiritu,
Regans piis in cordibus,
Aeterna laus et gloria.

Amen.

Humbly we dedicate a canticle
to the divine Name of Jesus,
whom the stars, lands, and depths   praise, adore, and tremble before.

O Name announcing salvation,
preeminent above every name,
O Fount of life, O Source of grace,
the pledge of heavenly glory.

O Name sweeter than honey,
which resounding in the heart and on the lips, soothes cares, blunts sorrows, and drives away demons.

May this Name
be to us invoking it a continual joy,
tempering the toil of life,
effacing the fear of death.

O Jesus, to your Name
be eternal praise and glory,
with the Father and the gracious Spirit,
reigning in pious hearts.

Amen.
